The GTA 40 is STIHL’s first dedicated battery-powered pruner for professional use. Part of the AS System and powered by 2x AS 2 lithium-ion batteries, this tool has been designed for use on the ground or in the air*.
The powerful EC engine and ¼” PM3 saw chain enables clean cutting and the variable chain speed allows full control of the cutting speed during use. The GTA 40 also has a sprocket cover with side-mounted chain tensioning and automatic chain lubrication, as well as a tool-free chain oil tank with sufficient volume for use with 6x AS 2 batteries.
Please be aware that the GTA 40 has been designed for use with 2 hands.
The GTA 40 can be used by both right and left handed users thanks to the rocker on both sides of the tool. An attachment ring lets you hook the tool on a belt for easy access wether you are working in the air or on the ground.
The tool cannot be used with only one battery.
The GTA 40 uses 2x AS 2 batteries which are discharged in parallel. The charge level indicator of the tool is located on the top of the tool in an easy-to-read position. Using the supplied AL 5-2 high-speed charger, you can quickly recharge 2x AS 2 batteries simultaneously in 50 minutes / 190 cuts.
* Please note, the GTA 40 can be used by all users on the ground, but is only certified for aerial use by trained arborists.

BAND 1
Purchases of items between 0 – 29kg will incur a delivery charge €5.00 within Mainland Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
BAND 2
Purchases of items between 30 – 49kg will incur a delivery charge of €54.95 within Mainland Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.Certain products such as walk behind lawnmowers & ladders are too heavy/large to dispatch with the standard courier service and will require using a freight company. Due to the additional costs to us we are unable to offer free delivery on these products and will incur an additional delivery charge of €54.95. You must be on site to receive and sign for these deliveries.
BAND 3
Purchase of items between 50 – 200kg. Certain products such as ride on mowers, power washers and generators are too large/heavy to dispatch with courier service and will require using a freight company. Due to the additional costs to us we are unable to offer free delivery on these products and will incur an additional delivery charge of €129.95
