In regards to choosing the drive transmission on your new lawnmower, it's important to recognize the slopes and terrain of your grass area. For smaller and flat lawns, a single-speed self-propelled mower is perfect. If your garden has slopes and different terrain, a variable speed or hydrostatic law will give you far more control when cutting between different areas.
At Robert Kee Ireland, we are authorised dealers for world leading brands HONDA Lawn Mowers, STIHL Lawn Mowers, HUSQVARNA Lawn Mowers, CASTELGARDEN Lawn Mowers, LEGACY Lawn Mowers & more. We cater for all budgets and requirements needed.
A petrol push lawn mower is a lawn mower that uses petrol as its fuel source. These lawn mowers are nearly always powered by 4 stroke petrol engines. You must walk behind the mower to control its path and speed while it cuts the grass.
Due to wide variety of lawnmowers, engines and manufacturers, we would always advise people to consult their user manual to get the exact starting procedure of their lawn mower model.
You should use a quality 4 stroke oil that is approved for use in lawn mowers. Please consult your user manual to find out the recommended engine oil to use in your lawn mower. We recommend this Honda 4 Stroke Engine Oils for Honda Engines and the Briggs and Stratton 4 Stroke Engine Oil for Briggs and Stratton Engines.
To use a petrol mower, make sure that it has adequate fuel and oil and then start the mower by doing the starting procedure documented in the included user manual. Please consult the user manual on how to operate the lawn mower safely and efficiently
If your lawn mower has a four stroke engine then yes. Make sure that the oil being used in the lawn mower is suitable for use in lawn mowers. We recommend using the oil that is recommended in the user manual.
The vast majority of lawn mowers are powered by 4 stroke engines. If your lawn mower has a 4 stroke engine, then only 4 stroke engine oil can be used in it. In the event that you have a 2 stroke powered engine in your lawn mower, then you must use 2 stroke oil. Please consult your user manual for clarification on this.
This depends on the area you are cutting, the features you need and finally your budget. We would recommend that anyone that wants a top of the range lawn mower to go for a Honda push lawn mower, a Husqvarna push lawn mower or a STIHL push lawn mower. If you have any questions on which one to go for, simply give us a call on 074-9721805!
Unfortunately, petrol now has a very short life span. We recommend that you do not use fuel that is more than 3 months old. After 3 months, the fuel will have attracted moisture in the air and the fuel will also start to become less combustible. This can cause a lot of problems if used in your petrol lawn mower or other petrol powered machinery.
If your lawn mower has been stored for winter, we would recommend all old fuel is drained from the fuel tank and carburettor and replaced with new fresh fuel before attempting to start it. Please consult the user manual for starting procedure.
